Oh what a drowning policy wave!

Oh what a drowning policy wave!

Rain rain rain? How it brings the wild critters out from under the bighouses, champing with statements and calls of the most extreme nature.

But is it nature?

Astrayliarn federal DrOpposition leader Tiny Habit likes to take advantage of anyone's disadvantage, to make out he's full of every good idea the nation needs.

We have a flood! He calls for 'MORE DAMS!'

Dams, aye? Would, Tiny, those suggested dams be similar in nature to the dams which were stretched across key Asian river systems over the last forty, fifty or so years?

Asian dams recommended by your benefactors - the ruthless and totally insane International Monetary Fund IMF?

Dams which have been shown over and over again to have been some of the worst policy mistakes the world has seen, because of the damage done to the regional environments, and to the eternally sustainable cultures and lifestyles of the inhabitants?

'Indigenous' inhabitants!

Inhabitants of OH! The 3rd world!

Yeah, those Peoples your IMF benefactors and Liberal/National Party sponsors (multinational mining, media, banking, drugs et al cartels) regard as superfluous to the long term 'purpose, Mr Smith' (unquote, 'The Matrix') of global domination, decimation and defence against aliens from other worlds!

So? Being a terribly fortunate puppet, I seem to get some of these assertions right.

Therefore I might be on the money here in suggesting that your latest policy shout, of calling for MORE DAMS whenever it floods (time you re-read Dorothea Mackellar 's 'My (Sunburnt) Country' Tiny?), shows us that you DO NOT care about the culture, and settlements of the people you propose dams should be built over and around?

However! Let me be clear!

Personally, after decades of scientific inquiry into our Australian culture, society and trends, I am the first, and the loudest, to whinge about how 'fallen' our Aussie culcha is.

But taking those verbose explosions back a few steps, the cause, it is found, for my and other social dissent, is your offshore benefactors - the IMF.

Yes..., the same insane IMF tyrants who are reeking havoc across the globe with their MORE DAMS policies!

You, and your upclub buddies, Tiny Habit, are disgusting examples of Astrayliar's brainlessness.

So..., as the rains have done significant damage to our farming (HAHAHAHAHAHA!), mining, infrastructure and sunny tourrorist reputation, and as the weather threatens to keep falling, making for MORE MUD, across our precious opencut coal mines, crops and beefing pastures, threatening the world's steel fabrication (two-thirds of the world's coking coal for steel production, comes from Astrayliar) and other apparently 'crucial' export markets, ('WE FEED 60 MILLION!?!?') therefore threatening to put quite a lot of rurals and mining employees out of work, perhaps indefinitely, what suggestions do you have up your witch's cloak?

MORE SOMETHING, no doubt?

Or, more likely, 'MORE ANYTHING!', to keep your sloping beak and batwings on the news, and up the people's craw.

Here's a small idea from Max No Difference.

Every employee in mining, farming, transport and infrastructure, whose livelihood is reduced or cut-off through NOT THE FLOOD NOT THE FLOOD!, shall have their housing costs, more specifically the 'land value' of their rent or mortgage, taken out of the hands of private landlords and banks, to be resumed into the hands of the federal government.

The effected employees can, where it applies, keep the mortgage or title, and the same rights of tenancy security will remain. In the case of New South Fails, significant improvements to 'security of tenure' would have to be applied, especially to rentals!

While they are either out of work, or on reduced incomes, they can volunteer to be eligible for tax relief, where they pay NO TAX on any items or goods and services they purchase or consume, be-it fuel, food (?), building products, machinery, etc etc.

But 'Environmental Taxes' appropriate to our Greener 'New Day' REALPolitik approach, would be introduced, but right across the board. INCLUDING for mining corporations et al.

So that they, the out-of-work Aussies, from mining and agriculture etc, can stay contributing to the nation's economy and to government revenue, they'll be asked to pay to the public purse, the Scientifically-Evaluated Land Rent.

This would mean they'd be relocated onto government-owned land, so-as to be free from the chains of private landlords, excessive land prices and exorbitant bank loan interest rates. Ever-changing interest rates!

We must ask them to be responsible, mature and accountable, though, so that they/we do not introduce a logjam down the track from their over-consumption on trivial products, etc.

A further suggestion might be that those who are flooded-out, and who feel that they are Wise to seek 'higher ground', have their old properties resumed into government ownership, reimbursed at a properly assessed land and improvements valuation, and assisted by local governments to relocate.

The resumed lands, typically rural (towns and villages, etc), would then be turned into Community-owned farms, or into other endeavors not endangered by future weather events.

Logic would suggest that the government either purchases tracts of high ground near an affected city, town, village or populated area, and with the muscles and minds of the recently unemployed, retrained wherever necessary, begin to build flood-safe new towns and villages.

I omit 'cities' as I DON'T LIKE THEM!

This, because the science, not personal desires, tells us that cities are not environmentally, economically OR culturally sustainable, from here forward into the uncertain future.

There are many good bases underlying cities, to-be-sure, but there is the distinct possibility that they, and all their negatives, are out-of-date, in terms of keeping life and the Earth alive.

'Lots and lots of lovely little villages...' as I once dreamed.

AGRARIAN Villages, as it goes.

Man cannot conquer nature. This has been understood by the longest surviving cultures since the earliest epochs.

We can 'modify' it, to some extent, sure. But the biggest mistake is to presume, from our oversized egos (know something about that, Tiny!), that it is all ours to capitalise on and destroy as each fantastic new idea is dreamed-up, invented or designed by the never-content white-skin Jews and Christians.

Not a lot of 'Balance' in those old kings models of cultural and social decline, is there, Mr Habit?

It is expected, that the bad Habit would jump up and shout down such ideas, citing 'costs' as exorbitant.

Well, the whole concept would be costly, yes, but all things considered, economic and environmental, such relocations and restructurings would not cost an whole lot more than your projected MORE DAMS.

And in the long run, as it does seem that we are evolving into a wetter global climate, even though the Tiny one shouts that there is no such thing as 'climate change', so such 'high ground proposals' do add-up, by all accounts. Not just by your offshore plunder-and-the Masses-be-damned multinational IMF accountancy-and-concrete consultancies.

However, Droppo leader Tiny Habit's lack-luster MORE DAMS policy ideas are a starting point.

It's just a LOT sad that they are the best our apparently best qualified alternative leader can conger.

I guess, the positive spin is 'the policy ideas can only get better!?'

Now, for a drive down to the Hunter Valley, for a look-see at those horribly unsustainable big coal holes!
