Cyclone Yasi! Oh Sugar!

'Wipe-out!'

The manmade 'tempest', cyclone Yasi ripped into north Queensland last night, and continues west across the state leaving more inundation and wreckage behind it.

Insurance corporations are feeling the sting, and after the floods in eastern and western Australia over the last fortnight, combined with the so-called 'natural disasters' across the USA, Eurape and elsewhere of the last couple of months, insurers come closer to the brink of having to payout more than they can afford.

A majority of Australians are 'OK' with that, having long been sick-and-tired of the insurance industries' callous profiteering from people's suffering and loss, or from their want to protect themselves and their belongings.

Forecasts of more and more and more 'tempests' reeking havoc right around the world are making the insurance executives and employees nervous, foreseeing their own losses of employment, and of being driven out into the employment marketplace in search of possibly OH NO? a more honest income to sustain their overly consumptive, wannabe-upclubber lifestyles.

Again, the majority of real people, are 'OK' with that too.

I think the insurance industry is closely tied to the banking industry, so as global weather events intensify, both will increasingly be under pressure.

Without doubt, after a while, perhaps even after just one year, we may expect to see more banking and insurance corporations collapse right around the bigball.

What then?

As the global centre of scamming and rip-off merchants, Eurape and Britain are still haemorrhaging from the Global Financial Crisis of 2008/9, as is the USA, and perhaps most of their governments are close to going bankrupt for exceedingly BAD economic, environmental and social planning dating back 500 or so years, it does seem that Humanity is nearing a general all-sectors disaster.

So there are going to have to be some BIG Thinkers, endowed with HEAPS of Wisdom, in or near the halls of power in the future.

And...., we all know the future starts - NOW!

But we're not likely to see any genuine admissions and adjustments from any of our 1st world governments toward these needs anytime soon, methinks.

As the electoral systems of essentially a terminally-corrupt two-party political structure have been hijacked by the all-powerful and seriously psycho-pathological, agenda-ridden global media cartels, neither 'side' of the overt political debacle-er-debate are game to speak straight about the aforesaid threats to everyone's future, nor about what the world needs to lessen the impending apocalypse.

So, 'damage-control' becomes the focus of all governments, political parties, banks, insurance corporations, military, police and emergency services and their departments-of-spin-doctors.

Much to the glee of the news-hounds, who make their squillions from 'sensational' events and horrors.

For us, down-here-down-beneath, as that region apparently provides some 80% of Astrayliar's bananas, and as banana crops in north Qld have been flattened by Yasi, we'll be paying 4, 5, 6, 10 times the usually extra-cheap price for bananas from now on.

Sugar crops also, have been wiped flat up there, so I'm lucky to be carrying about 6 kilos of it with me.

Sugar supplies will run low in supermarkets, and most Yasi-effected growers and processors up north are more than likely already figuring-out their losses and thus their claims for government assistance, and claims to insurance corporations, both for the losses they suffered from last night's wet and windy 'biggest-on-record' 'blow', and so-as to be able to get back into operation.

About 30 years ago I wrote a letter to Melbourne newspaper The Age addressing the outright wrongs and stupidity of our white-western culture's addiction to sugar, calling it 'our most dangerous internal enemy' or such.

Typically, I received no acknowledgement from the paper, but in the following weeks noticed one sheila-reporter had plagiarised the basis of the letter and written and published in The Age an extended article about very similar food and consumption issues.

Yawn!

But more recently, about 6 years ago now, I was fated to help a bloke cart some wooden panels from some storage sheds to his friends house located in the middle of a sugar-cane farm, south-east of Murwillumbah, north-eastern NSW.

I camped the night outside the house in my previous van, was treated to a feed and a drink by the woman-owner of the property, and as usual (for me) conversation went eventually to OH NO? Politrix, Astrayliarn-style.

Much was ranged-over I guess, and I recall a general agreement existed amongst the few adults, about the pathetic condition of our own country's political farce.

But one thing the woman said about the industry her family had for generations made their livelihood from, has stayed in my mind.

She said something like 'the sugar-cane industry in Australia only exists to cater to our....' now I actually forget the precise term she used, but it was related to the national debt, or export income or our GDP, our 'gross domestic product', or such.

But I was sparked by what she said, and, part-in-jest, asked her 'could I have that in writing?'.

We all giggled and let it pass.

Nevertheless, I have no reason to suspect her line was a lie, and since then have looked at all the maximally-fertile flood-plains covered with sugar-cane, from the 'central coast' region of NSW right up the eastern seaboard to north Queensland, with disdain.

Remembering which vehicle I was living in then, I can recount that it was a couple of years before that evening that I had one day, stopped at the little sugar mill in 'Condong', not far-at-all from the woman's property I went to, to have-a-look-see at what goes on in a sugar mill, and put-in my tuppence-worth to the employees there, that they should investigate making 'bio-fuel' ethanol petrol from the sugar-cane's 'biomass'.

Not very long after that, ethanol petrol was being sold in service stations here!

Hohum...? 'Where's me royalties???'

Now I drive a diesel powered vehicle, and wish muchly I had a little bit of land where I could collect, store and process spent cooking oil into diesel fuel.

But mummy refuses to let me live, anything near a 'normal life'.

However, if, as I believe, the sugar-cane woman's line about how the sugar industry is not about growing sugar for human consumption, but is in fact a warped means of propping-up the global commodities and shares markets, FOREIGN-owned and manipulated global commodities and shares markets, is there not an opportunity for Australia to effect something of a change to how we abuse the evermore precious land we all need, what with the 'devastation' to north Queensland's sugar plantations?

'Of course there is, mister Eartha! But who wants to know...?

Well..., the first one's who should be rethinking these issues, and pondering the points toward CHANGE in such industries, and allied industries (farm machinery, chemical fertilisers and pesticides, etc, LAND USE, long term ecological effects of sugar to hydrological run-off to OH! The Great barrier Reef,) and whether anyone should be promoting the internally DEADLY food sugar, are government!

But HOHO! Name me a government anywhere which is NOT stuck halfway down the bed sucking the testicles of the global tyrants in the IMF, the FOREIGN IMF who are psychotically determined to bleed the planet's natural environment dry, just so their upclub bedpals can keep sucking the juice out of the planet, and out of the people?

How about the global government of THE MOON!? (Nuh! All the political lunatics are down HERE!)

Oh well! I guess we're all just going to have to suffer MORE extreme 'tempestuous' weather events, a continuation of LAME parliaments, political bullshit artists, media tyranny, public debt, and foreign subversion of anything Good for the world and for mememememe!

But at least the superseded cane-growers and allied industries will keep getting payouts from corrupt governments to buy ANOTHER BRAND NEW Toyota to impress the homeless with, and will be able to keep wasting the planet to afford a flash caravan to grey-nomad-it around the soaking continent, playing giggle-witch chasing and terrorising REALPolitik journalists, while their properties sink.

Good-on-yer Aussie!

And here comes ANOTHER cyclone!

And the word of 2011 is..... 'INUNDATION!'”

I tell you, it's REAL-FUCKING DANGEROUS to THINK down-here-down-the-shithole!

Ask any copper!
