My Letter To The ABC On 'Readers' Comments'
I
just returned to viewing the ABC news web pages and roamed
across the various branches, the Drum, but one, after becoming
despondent and disgusted at the lack of available 'reader comments'
to most articles.
A certain
British-based, now global media outlet, recently opening offices in
Australia, seems to be very popular here since, as apart from it
addressing issues of political import and controversy the likes of
mainstream ABC steer well clear of, it is, I suggest very popular
with all sides of the 'political divide' here, for having ample space
for readers to comment.
It's always been
the bane of ABC readers/viewers to, even in this so-called
'interactive media' age, with the internet, that aunty has very few
articles open for 'readers' comments.
And, I find, with
the article, by an ex-Murdoch writer no less, about Ian McDonald,
that 'comments for this article have closed' but two days after it
was published, particularly 'weak'.
News and Current
Affairs Media will, stand or fall, from now on, on it's modern
ability and egalitarian want to enable readers'/watchers/listeners to
respond, comment and give opinions, corrections and assessments, plus
alternative viewpoints, backed by science and evidence, to whatever
it publishes. [There will always be cheap and bigoted comments, but
for the better ones, these surely should be tolerated by any media
site, and it's readers?]
Many people in
Australia know well how biased and censoring the ABC has always been
- myself most definitely - and we know that the ABC, being funded by
our offshore corporate 'government' of either stripe, is dangerously
detrimental to 'Democratic media' and the supply of necessary
information, regarding politics, etc, as farcical as 'politics' is
here, thanks in large part to the biases broadcast by the ABC itself.
'Keeping the balance' are we, in partnership with Murdoch?
The ABC is sure
to have funding cuts with this federal government, albeit that you,
the ABC, are far more right wing, and thus, closer to the ideologies
of this current form of 'pseudo-democratic' totalitarianism, than any
Honest, REALPolitik opposition to the LNP.
As has been clear
to myself for decades, the ABC exists to employ and promote
inequality for the private-schooled, essentially catholic sectors,
who actively work and are paid to go, against all True Democratic
Government, of, "Of The People, By The People, and For The
People!" And that, may well in fact, not opinion, be the Basis
of True Communism!
So, regarding the
heinously biased article about Ian McDonald, with unintelligent
assumptions against the 'Communist Party', and indeed, the Labor
Left, one is Duty bound, to Democratic and Egalitarian Politics of
Equitable LAND DISTRIBUTION - globally, to condemn all facets of the
ABC, while it plays to the ignorance of the current federal LNP
government, merely so the catholics employed by yourselves, are not
put out to do an honest days work!

y'all!

'committed catholic', Geraldine Doogue?
