[Since this Guardian article and my comment, things have 'shifted' somewhat, with the three mentioned Indigenous NT Politicians, with all signing up to Clive Palmer's PUP Party! Opens an whole new episode both for the NT arena, and for the Indigenous Australians, and for the nation's political miasma, methinks?
Have to wait-and-see, for a few months, as to how effective this shift might become?
One reason why I wrote in the intro above, more positively about Clive Palmer. His being wealthy because of his rude ventures in coal mining, made me at least reserved about him, even with his strong and sharp assessments of the politics here, prior to the fed election. This join-up made so because Clive spoke True about helping the Bleck Fellas during his election campaigning. Le'see?!]
I don't know the
percentage of Indigenous People in the N.T. [Edit; 30%~]
But, assuming
they are the majority, perhaps these three Indigenous MPs are on the
verge of starting something useful for Aborigines, if they can be
assured of enough support from ALL their Mobs to form a new party?
Considering the
overall racism and oppression so Nobly endured by them/us all across
Australia, and the intervention imposed by the LNP Howard govt, etc.,
and the general fact that Bleck Fulla worldwide actually, are at last
getting back on their feet after centuries of inhumane racism against
them, with these three Indigenous Polies stepping out of the govt.,
we may all look with some Optimism to them, especially if they form a
new party.
I'd encourage
them to do so.
Bleck Fulla may
only be under 3% of Australians, but they have Wisdom AND HONESTY,
most lacking in our politics, so should be heard.
It's that there
are so many of them in the N.T., that I so love the Territory.
